| Editorial Reviews:
Product Description Inspired by designs from the automotive and fashion industries, Samsung's molding process eliminates the need for glue or screws to construct the television cabinets. The result is an LCD HDTV with a clean, smooth finish infused with a hint of a translucent color. The Ultra Clear Panel was developed by Samsung to further reduce glare in difficult lighting conditions and enable optimum picture viewing. A layer of organic particles in the panel reduces reflection even more than the original super clear panel to provide remarkably improved clarity.Technological enhancement to the image rendering continues with the company's Wide Color Enhancer 2 and DNIe Pro, which is the generation of Samsung's Digital Natural Image Engine. DNIe Pro eliminates noise while also boosting contrasts and sharpening edges on fast moving, Full HD images. With Samsung's Wide Color Enhancer 2, images are saturated with vivid, natural color due to the expanded range of color expression. The crystal design also incorporates Samsung's recently developed down-firing speakers, which replaces older duct-style speakers to produce a more balanced sound dynamic in a wider frequency range that will thrill movie and game lovers.

P58B650 is Awesome! March 12, 2010 C. Hoban (Pennsylvania, USA) Samsung PN58B650 58-Inch 1080p Plasma HDTV
Simply great picture. Sound good. The internet feature is disappointing. It works OK, but it's doesn't have extensive features and it's kind of slow (Maybe because of wireless connection, wired may perform better.). Overall I still think this TV is awesome!
We have a buzzer March 9, 2010 Andrew Kimball (Boston, MA) I am a long time user of Amazon.com and love the site. Unfortunately we purchased the Samsung PN58B650 through a friend of the family at wholesale and it was a mistake. If we had purchased through Amazon.com or some other retailer, we would have had a much easier time returning our buzzing TV. Understanding that people's views of what is tolerable for the buzzing noise is very personal, we have had friends and family over to get their take on the buzzing and everyone agrees it's not normal. The level of buzzing is very dependant on the angle from the screen with the highest occurring directly in front of the screen about six feet away with the TV about two feet off the ground. The buzzing noise is coming directly from the TV, not the speakers. The buzzing level is also very dependant on what is on the screen. Samsung has sent three service calls, replacing power supplies and other parts which have not solved the issue.
The picture quality is amazing and the look/feel of the TV is perfect, however ours is going back to Samsung after a long battle. Is it worth ordering the TV and taking a 50/50 chance that it might be a buzzer? Samsung needs to own up to the fact that there is an issue here.
Pretty Good March 7, 2010 C. Sharpe No buzzing, speakers are tinny, reflections on screen from room lamps is annoying, so much so that I usually have to turn the off. Everything else is great.

I've had this TV for three months now. It's a great picture TV. I did a lot of research and finally settled on this model. Amazon was great, on price, and delivery! Thanks!
I turn it on and...I feel like my money went down the drain. The buzz was so laud that at 20 out of 70 setting on my surround sound system I can still hear it. Sounds like hight power voltage transformer leaking or vibrating on boards. I call the customer service of Samsung and they send a contractor company that never shows up. I call them again and they send a new company 8 hrs away....They in turn send a guy, nothing against the person, who shows up and starts diagnosing my HDTV (21st century) by pressing the back of a screw driver all over the back of electronic components. Eventually he says "You need a new panel, but it may take a while". After a week I get a call from Samsung saying do you want your money back we cant ship a panel for the next three months. I like the TV, pissed I tell them I would wait. Two days latter the screw driver guy tells me he has the panel (the whole panel) and can install it the next day!?! I agree, he comes and swaps the thing in like 15 min. I turn it on and say to him that it still buzzes, but he is out the door with the phrase "All plasma buzz". I can't make Samsung Support to tell me what decibel and frequency is normal buzzing, although my personal opinion is that for that amount of money it should be quiet, period! Also, half my screen now has dancing faint green dots when the screen is black. Any ideas?...Any way I'm waiting screwdriver guy, after I called Samsung again, to come and see if he can do anything. I would recommend not buying this TV if you have fine hearing and would like to receive your money worth when buying something in this economy. Samsung should do a LOT better in support and quality in my opinion. Hope this helps.
BEST OUT THERE..... February 26, 2010 research o.c.d. (Allentown,PA USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
returned sharp aquos 60" 120 hz lcd .... too much motion blur and purple blacks off center, crappy sound also...picked this up after much debating and research...couldn't be more pleased!!! The pic is amazing, even without geeky fine tuning, which I will get to one of these days, the sound on virtual surround is more than ok, but I still have a surr. sound hooked up just for sometimes, plenty of inputs, no complaints! No buzzing, no burn-in, no nothing---high def looks amazing, std def looks decent on the rare occasion its watched, and reg. digital movie channels look just about high def---the ultra high contrast ratio really makes a difference. Also, the set is gorgeous-a beautiful addition to any room. We only sit about 9-10 feet away and pic looks great, so don't think its automatically too big. And forget about blu-rays---the pic is practically 3-D !!! If you can't tell, I feel that this is the best 2K i've ever spent on an elec. product...just hope she lasts...I got a Square Trade Warranty to help ensure that...this model usually on sale at Sears for $1939 every week recently....Good Luck!!!
