WOW! is about the correct discription August 21, 2010 Mr69vett The Mitsibishi WD-82837 DLP TV is incredible! From the grand size to the terrific picture. I cannot begin to say how pleased I am with this TV. I wasn't sure if the DLP would be a quality picture compared to the LCD, LED or plazma. But after gettting it set up and the HD picture on I know it is everything I had hoped for and MORE! I wanted big and it dosn't get any bigger than this!!! I saved over $1000 purchasing it through Amazon That also is incredible!!! Thank You Amazon!!! If I had to pay retail I was leaning more towards the 73", but with the terriffic deal I knew I could go all the way to the 82" The shipping was good, there was a small snag and the set sat in a depot for a few days, but that was more to my not being clear that the original shipping address they were to deliver was to a business so daytime delivery would have been possible for a signature. I called the shipper and they checked and it was set up for the next day for a weekend delivery to my home instead of the original busimess address, so that smal problem was more that taken care of!!! I will most definetly shop Amazon 1st for all my shopping needs in the future!!

buyer beware August 19, 2010 S. Haas 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I purchased a $15,000 version of this television 5 years ago. These TV's require new lamps about once a year. Mitsubishi quit making lamps for my 82" model < 5 years after they quit making them. The tv has no value without a light source. I have not viewed this tv but would be very wary that Mitsubishi may leave you with a worthless product if they stop making lamps. They have done it before - check their site for lamps for wl82913 and you will see they have abandoned support for a 5 year old $15,000 TV.
The REAL Deal~~~ August 15, 2010 Larry Greene (Greater Western NC) Stunning, Magnificent, Spectacular!!!!!!! This is more than the REAL deal. There are NOT enough words to fully express how impressive this tv truly is. The color is impectable, it will blow you away: vivid, vibrant and amazing. This a dream tv and for anyone that loves tv, the MUST set to have.
Now, this is a HUGE set, its the size of a mini movie theatre screen. It fits perfect in our 20x20 room. Mitz says this model is the same as their 60, 65 and 73 inch sets. If you dont have a room where this 82 fits, one the other's would suggest you get.
This IS a DLP, its my second one and I just totally love DLP's. My brother and nephews have plasmas and LCD's and they all 3 say this Mitz DLP blows theirs away. The presets found to be fine, would say it takes the lamp a few days to fully burn in and it has all kinds of controls that I found to easy to set to my preferrence.
Also, this is an HD tv and you MUST have an HD signal to fully experience the great detail. While standard with my older RCA 50 inch DLP was very accepable and only a notch down from HD, once you experience HD on this Mitz, standard is very lacking (its viewable, but there is NO comparison to HD). I am on Dish Network and their 1080 HD is STUNNING, with the size of the 82 inch screen Derick Jetter, the Swish and A-Rod are like right in the room with you, sweat and all.
Again, if you love tv and want the very best, most impressive and have your friends, say WOW!!!!!!! Get a Metz.
83 INCH MITSU August 3, 2010 UN GRIFFO MY WIFE LOVES HER NEW TV.. NOW WHEN EVER WE HAVE FAMILY NIGHT EVERYONE WANTS TO COME OVER FOR THE MOVIE EXPERIENCE.
Great TV with a horrible Remote July 28, 2010 Fernando Barroso (Oxnard, CA) I will start off by saying the TV is HUGE! One of the first things a person should do before buying this TV is make sure they have the room for it in their home. For such a large TV I had fears that the TV would have picture issues but that is not the case. Even when playing games on the Wii or watching non-HD TV it still looks nice. Everything on the screen pops!
The blacks are black and the whites are white. Colors pop off the TV and make watching HD TV and playing Xbox 360 even better.
On the sound side I have never been a fan of speakers on DLP TVs but I have to say that this TV has great speakers. It has two speakers on each end of TV and due to its size it provides sound that fills the room without having to have put it past 20 on the volume. To be honest I couldn't even tell you what the max volume on the TV is because once you get to 45 on the volume it's so loud it painful! (By the way I think it goes to 60 on volume)
On the downside the remote for the TV is horrible! I have never hated a remote as much as I hate this one. I owned the model that came out two years before this model and it had a much better remote. Mitsubishi somehow thought it would better to remodel the remote on the classic RCA remote of the 50's. While the remote is horrible it's still not a deal breaker.
The TV is too much picture and sound to say no to and plus it does 3D too! I haven't used the 3D yet but it's always good to have more features on a TV.
If you are looking a TV that will fill up a room for a good price look no forward get this TV!
