Samsung HL61A750 61-Inch 1080p LED Powered DLP HDTV is a lot of screen for the buck! January 8, 2009 Joker Samsung HL61A750 61-Inch 1080p LED Powered DLP HDTV is a lot of screen for the buck! It came from Vann's, shipped by Yellow fright. Make sure you are able to help getting it from the truck to the room, (only one driver to help you). I set it up and it works great.
Everything I expected January 6, 2009 Richard T. Stagner (Bradenton, FL USA) I wanted to replace a 51" Panasonic rear projection TV in our Florida room with a similiar size HDTV. I picked this one on the basis of reviews that said it worked well in a bright area, and I fully concur. It is much better than the Panasonic was. I also was attracted by the LED light source as I always thought the bulb type units required too much maintenance. Off axis viewing is much better than I expected, and much better than Mitsubishi units that I have looked at. Delivery from VANS was prompt and in good condition.
Good value January 3, 2009 Alan Chan (Ca, USA) Been doing some research about DLP HDTV and was initially apprehensive about the projection bulb which had a life of about 1+ year. When Samsung came out with the LED light source (new)I bought the 61" set. I had it before Christmas and am overall happy with it so far. Setup was easy but had some problems intially as the cable box did not come with HDMI connections.(Not a Samsung problem). I had to get a new box with the cable people and picture was great. Only comment was the sound which was OK for regular listening but not for concerts DVD. Probaly will get the Samsung home theatre system later. A good buy for a 61" HDTV.
Best TV, Best Price! January 3, 2009 M. Ali (NYC) You get what you pay for? This TV in an Plasma and LED version is at least $3,000-$5,000 more. I paid about $1900, I've had it for 5 months now, a bargain indeed.
Fantastic! Incredible Deal. January 2, 2009 Ian J. Parks (San Joaquin Valley, CA) We have large living room, so I wanted to go larger than 52". I didn't want to pay $4,000 so I looked at DLP's. This one kept showing up as the best. I looked at it at C.C. and B.B., I was impressed so I ordered it from Amazon and saved a good $300 at least. The picture is incredible, HD is almost too good, the guy on Mythbusters has a terrible skin condition I never saw before. The 61" is great, and people think it is an LCD and ask if I am going to mount it on the wall. After a quick calibration with Star Wars DVD the colors are fantastic, I am looking forward to doing a little more refined calibration but with what I've got right now I am completely happy with my purchase. Bottom line, if you don't care about it being 3" deep, and want a larger picture I would highly recommend. My family loves it. I'll see how durable it is, but I am hoping for the best.
