| Editorial Reviews:
Product Description Displays HDTV programs in full 1920 x 1080p resolution for a more detailed picture.Unlike other sensors which can only sense brightness of ambient light, LG's "Intelligent Sensor" uses 4,096 sensing steps to evaluate its surroundings. Using a sophisticated algorithm, the LG processes picture quality elements including brightness, contrast, color, sharpness and white balance. The result is a picture optimized for it's surroundings, more pleasing to watch and which can also save up to 50% in power consumption. The AV Mode optimizes the picture into Cinema, Sports, and game Mode according to the video and audio content. The viewer has the ability to quickly choose the correct mode for the picture they are viewing.Automatically enhances and amplifies the sound of human voice frequency range to help keep dialog audible when background noise swells. This TV contains the detailed calibrations necessary for professional certification by the Imaging Science Foundation. The resulting ISF "day" and "night" modes will then be accessible by the user to experience the best their LG HDTV has to offer.

Takes a little while to smooth out November 16, 2008 Tom (New York, New York) After 3 years my Plasma died. I was able to put this lcd on the same mount and it looks less obtrusive and is much lighter. It takes a little while for the picture to look less pixilated. I do not have the HDMI connector, since I have nothing that has that type of output, but with RGB components and digital cable it looks much richer than the plasma, and it doesn't get as hot. The only negative is, I called LG's customer service and I was appalled at how unhelpful they were. I sure hope I don't need customer service for this TV.
had to exchange October 28, 2008 scw357 (BATON ROUGE) 0 out of 4 found this review helpful
I never had a chance with this tv because the box was damage upon arrival so I refused shipment. The seller was out of stock of this model so I exchanged it over the phone through customer service for a Samsung A450 42" plasma for the exact same price. 42 inches are better than 37 inches, it is a real nice tv I'm glad I made the exchange. I had no problems with customer service they were real helpful and professional despite some of the bad reviews that are posted against Datavis.com

The service was great. I had originally ordered from another vendor, but they were out of stock for weeks. I cancelled my order and ordered here. The service was very fast and the TV is fantastic! Friends and relatives are very impressed with this TV!
Does it's job, the second time around... September 14, 2008 The Shoe Brain (New York, NY) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
While I didn't buy it via Amazon (sorry Amazon people), I purchased through a brick-and-mortar strictly because I haven't converted to making big purchases online. I bought this thing for two reasons: 1. I hadn't had a TV for over a year, I was overdue. 2. Picture quality. I searched high and low and stared at many, many HDTVs, in so many different stores, so much so that my eyes hurt. This was the best one (within the size I was looking for, 32-37" as this is what space I had/have allocated in my apartment). Picture clarity is key! That's the whole point of HD, correct? So, first thing's first, I received a dud. Yes, a dud. It was working no more than a day before the brain of the TV just died on me (don't ask for technical terms, it's the part that makes the screen display a moving picture as opposed to lines moving across the screen). I don't know if anyone else ran into this problem, but it was a tad annoying. I do believe, however, based on many other reviews, that I was the unlucky one to receive a defective one. The part was replaced, and now it's all good :). Clarity is there, haven't had any problems since (I'm on month three), and did I mention I love it? Downside: don't sit too close, your eyes will definitely hurt. Quality is just that sharp--at least on HD channels. Oh how I cannot wait until Feb '09 rolls around when the rest of the channels hop on board. My life will be very close to complete :).
Great Hi-def television! July 5, 2008 H. Johnson (Fort Worth, Texas) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I looked at the Scarlet series but for the price this was a great value. I really like the clear voice feature - it makes a big difference. Easy installation. I would rather have a matte surround because the glossy reflects light. The HD is fabulous! I would definitely recommend to friends.
