Good HDTV with an issue of screen ununiformity January 8, 2009 Henry (New York, NY USA) I bought the Sony KDL-46Z4100 HDTV from Circuit City before Christmas and the performance of the TV out of box was very impressive. The picture was sharp with good details and the sound was not bad either. I then changed the picture mode to "Standard" for watching TV programs and "Cinema" for blu-ray and DVD (all via HDMI connections) and the colors were more natural than the "Vivid" setting. Then I did some calibrations using the Avia DVD. It turned out that the factory setting for "Sharpness" was way too high so I changed that to minimum. There was also a problem with color accuracy (-5% green and -15% red), which seemed not easy to correct by adjusting "Saturation" and "Hue". The most disturbing thing was that when the TV was displaying some test patterns like half dark gray/half white screen, there was a visible area (about the size of a football) in the center that appeared slightly darker (like some dirt) than other areas of the screen. This suggested ununiformity problems with the screen. I'm still testing the TV by watching different disks and programs to see whether the ununiformity issue is tolerable. It is obvious on a white, static screen but nearly unnoticeable in moving scenes. I don't know if any other customers had experienced this. Otherwise, I would give the TV five stars for its slim and elegant design, connectivity, picture quality and numerous adjustable features.
Good TV, good delivery, easy setup January 8, 2009 Roland Romeiser (Miami, FL USA) Reviews of the picture quality and the features of this TV can be found elsewhere, and if you are interested in ordering the KDL-46Z4100 from Amazon, you probably know that this model doesn't represent the latest state of the art (no LED lighting, local dimming, etc.), but it offers a reasonable picture quality and a good-looking, slim body for a reasonable price, at least if ordered on the internet. I can tell you that my internet order from Amazon went very well - I got the TV delivered to my house within just a few days, the box and the TV arrived in very good shape, the setup was very easy, and I haven't had any problems so far. I think it was a good decision to order the TV from Amazon, which saved me several 100 dollars compared to the best price at local stores.
Very Satisfied Customer January 7, 2009 Ruth A. Bowman (Scottsdale, AZ USA) Sony Bravia Z-Series KDL-46Z4100/B 46-Inch 1080p 120Hz LCD HDTV, Black Good Price, on time delivery and very carefully packaged and handled. Outstanding Picture (Sharp and Natural Color). Excellent sound and all the easily accessed features I could possibly use. Watching this TV is so pleasurable that I am tempted to become a "Couch Potato."
Love it so far... January 6, 2009 D (Boston, MA) After much research and following the prices, I finally pulled the trigger on the Sony 46inch Z. The price around Black Friday time was outstanding and though I had planned to get the W, the price made the Z version the way to go. It's great looking and the few HD channels I receive right now are terrific. I'm upgrading my cable soon so I can get all the HD Channels. Football games look amazing! It's hard to watch the other "regular" tv's now. I thought this would be too big for the room...but you get used it pretty quickly and now anything else just looks silly. Delivery was FAST and set up easy. I'll be looking to get more of these Sony flat screens for other rooms in the future and Amazon will be the place I look to first.
The Best for Less January 6, 2009 DAVID TANNER 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought a 46 inch LCD Sony Bravia 46Z model for much less than I could anywhere else and I am really happy with the performance and quality of the set. The delivery was on time and the personnel who delivered the set were first class in placing into my TV center. They turned it on and made sure it worked, and asked if they would like them to set it up also. I will not hesitate to recommend Amazon for any product you sell. My experience with you is AAAA, keep giving the "Best for Less".
