Toshiba SD6100 1080p Upconverting DVD Player January 2, 2009 Soren (Los Angeles, CA, USA) A good DVD player, and very easy to use; I used the HDMI capability to connect the player with an hdtv and playing movies was no problem. To summarize, a good machine at a decent price
I GOT 2 of em... December 30, 2008 BIGKEV420 (MI) I bought this product because the SD-4000 was no longer available at BestBuy, and i was told by an associate that the 4100 did not play DIVX. I specifcaly bought the SD-4000 about a year ago strictly for the fact that it would play all my.AVI files that i burn to CD-R. I absoulutley LOVE this feature. When i wanted a second one, i was forced into buying this one. I have a SONY Bravia 40" Widescreen LCD and am waiting for the HDMI cable to show up in the mail any day now. With all the good reviews, im quite excited to plug it in and see what all the hype is about. This Player is my main squeeze for all my audio needs too. MP3 Cd's, Audio Cd's, Storebought DVD's, DIVX /.Avi movies that i make myself, Homemade DVD's, Jpg Cd's. This machine, as well as my 4000 model do it all! I would recomend this player to anyone for all your audio and video needs. I now have 2 and havent had any problems at all. And for the $ you just cant beat it! If you arent intrested in the upconversion, i recomend the SD 4000. It is a great machine. And a little cheaper too. But this one is a great machine too.
Great out of the gate, but lacking stamina... December 23, 2008 Matthew G. Mason 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Had this machine for four months (30 days past the warranty deadline) when the tray started acting up - it doesn't stay out, giving you a bare moment to remove or add a DVD before retracting again. A month or so later it started giving errors and ceased playback of home-burned movies altogether. This was my first experience with Toshiba - and my last.
Don't waste your money and time December 23, 2008 A. E. Sander (California, USA) I had this DVD player for three weeks before it started freeze framing and sending error messages. My friend has had the same model DVD player for three months and his is starting to give error messages too. Don't waste your time or money. The customer service isn't much help either. I'm switching to another brand.
Great Product. November 23, 2008 V. Abiraj (Trinidad and Tobago) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
After looking and searching for an Upconverting DVD player, I chose this one from Toshiba as it had a lot of features and despite some bad reviews from others, it still had more good than bad. Picture quality is wonderful. I bought a Belkin HDMI cable and the quality is fabulous. The player is neat and sleek. It is a bit noisy when reading the DVDs but once the show starts you barely hear anything. Great product.
