1 out of 5 stars Hate this company   October 17, 2008

Just check the Web- Magnavox is horrible. The first review that has five stars has not used their player mor than 10 times- because that is about the time it won't accept any more disk. Every person on the web has this same problem. Call Magnavox- and you get nother but an insult when they offer to sell you the same one you have in "exchange" for more money than you paid to start with. I treated this dvd player like a baby, never took it outside or even moved it more than once. They know they made a piece of junk with this one- and have just written it off. Well I've written them off too. You know- you try to buy American- and the corporates cry if you don't.

1 out of 5 stars Beware of Magnavox consumer service   August 19, 2008

I purchased this product six months ago. Up to that point it worked perfectly. It had a great picture and an excellent remove control. The sound is a little low but I always wear headphones when I listen to it so that was not a problem. The problem can when my player's started to make a banging noise, then the screen would freeze and then it would cutoff. I called their customer service and they told me they were in the middle of switching to a new system. During the process of making the switch they could not accept any returns. They told me to wait until September and then call THEM back. I will never buy anther Magnavox product again since they can not support their products.

5 out of 5 stars Survived my kids   July 31, 2008

We have several different portable DVD players, this is the only one that made it past 6 months in our household. Construction is solid, picture is bright, and speakers are plenty loud. Battery lasts one movie, possibly 2 shorter movies. This is actually our second one of this model. The first one survived drops, kicks, CD lid being open during mid spin, and all sorts of other abuses....and lasted 18 months. Remarkable given the abuse that my children dishes out.
