$600.00 DISPOSABLE JUNK February 14, 2008 Barry Taylor (Pennsylvania) I purchased this tv for our boat. It got very little use since we only spend about 30-35 days aboard. It quit working the second summer (not yet a year old). I thought it would still be under warranty. When I called Magnavox, they told me the warranty period was only 90 days. My reply was "Magnavox must really be proud of this piece of work". They told me I could exchange it for one that had been refurbished for only $400 plus. If a brand new one won't last a year (probably less than 75 hrs total use) how long do you think one they patched up will last. I was reassured however that it would carry the "full" warranty. Wow! Another 90 days. I called several TV repair shops to see if I could get it fixed. They all had the same answer: There are no repair manuals or wiring schematics available from Magnavox. I will never buy another Phillips or Magnavox product!! Circuit City should point out the fact that a junk product like this is only warranted for 90 days. If I had known at the time, I would not have purchased it.
DVD Player broke 4 months after purchase! January 27, 2008 D. Baker (Costa Rica) The DVD player gave out after 4 months, and will be expensive to fix. I am also disappointed with the remote control, which drains batteries quickly. I've bought batteries for the remote 3 times since I bought it 4 months ago.
Do not buy, DVD player will fail - Customer service was poor November 29, 2007 Zildjian This is the same TV as you may see by Philips, Magnavox, & Initial, just with different logos on the front. I've had two of these TV's, and the DVD player has failed on both of them. I talked to the Initial customer service manager multiple times, and he insisted that they have a "less than 1%" return rate... LIES. Look at the number of people saying the dvd player has quit in just days to months of use. If it was a 1:100 defect rate, then the odds of me having two separate units that both fail would be 1:10,000!!!! Give me a break and don't lie to your customers! Paying shipping back to the company was expensive, and then... the last replacement's DVD player again failed after 13 months. Unbelieveable. I'm just waiting for somebody to start a class action suit for a terrible product, so I can send this junk back.
The DVD doesn't work and Magnavox won't fix it August 24, 2007 M. Anderson (Millersville, Maryland United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
We bought our TV about 18 months ago and enjoyed it very much - until last week when the DVD player stopped working. I was annoyed, but reconciled to getting it repaired. I called Magnavox to get a referral to an authorized service representative. I was told there is no authorized repair for the unit, only replacement. However, the representative said I would receive a discount for a replacement unit. It would only cost me $499! UNBELIEVABLE! I never imagined that I had purchased a disposable TV. Magnavox will get no more of my money. I would rate this item zero stars if that were possible.

The DVD player on the model I bought (32 inch) was faulty from the start. Took in the disk my son picked out "special" when we bought the t.v. and will neither play it nor eject it. Customer service gave me the number of an authorized service center 30 minutes from me. It's hard to believe that yesterday I didn't have a television and today I've got one that needs servicing. If you are in the market for expensive hassles (with a bonus of disappointed youngsters), then by all means, rush out and GET THIS T.V.!
