1 out of 5 stars Just Awful!   September 1, 2010
WalleyeDreaming
This unit rocked at first (for the first 6-7 months). Since then, we can hardly get it to do anything. We have to unplug it several times from the wall outlet to get it to respond to any commands (as it freezes constantly). I am glad we did not get rid of our old DVD player. I will miss the Netflix streaming but now the Wii does it. Buy something else!

I have nothing but firmware issues and sent back To Samsung one whit 50.00 & 19.00 shipping charge. to me.You would think by now thy up date automatic by the Internet which it plug in to it. No you have to do it Manual. Also the player wasn't even 6 months old so tums downs.

1 out of 5 stars Gave up the ghost   August 30, 2010

I have two Samsung lcd's and two samsung blu-rays.
this one was always a real pain to get to connect to my wireless router.
But after I finally figured it out, it worked for about six months.
Then it stopped playing DVDs.
Called support and they told me to clean it.
I did.
Still doesn't play DVDS, but it does play cds. But I don't use cds. It plays blu-rays but I have far more dvds in my collection and when I rent from netflix or blockbuster.
And now the wireless functions have stopped working. Good bye Pandora.
It has become an expensive door stop with touch sensitive controls.

A nice unit but unreliable and the service is unbelieveably bad.

Mine worked fine for about 8 months but then stopped reading DVDs. (The electronic stuff, Netflix and Youtube, still worked.) Spent an hour on the phone with service before they would concede the unit was still under warantee. Then mailed it in, waited two weeks, got it back, and it's still not fixed.

Can't recommend Samsung until they get their service operation up to acceptable standards.

2 out of 5 stars My BD P3600 beeps intermittently.   August 21, 2010
DAT (WA STATE)
I bought this player a bit over a year ago, and wouldn't buy another one again. It has had issues from the beginning.

The first thing I noticed was that the connections in the back of the player shorted out if wiggled, should've sent it in then but thought 'how often do I wiggle the cables?'.

I went wireless in the house and it was a bitch setting this up for wireless Netflix use. After many hours with a tech-savvy buddy, it was done, BUT now it beeps off and on whenever I play a DVD or watch Netflix-streamed movies. What a movie killer it is to have, all of a sudden, a loud beeping noise coming from the player. When you get back into the movie it happens again. Maybe thirty times in a movie and then go two movies without a beep. What gives?

It's my fault for not getting it into the shop before the warranty ran out, but isn't there a fix? The thing plays both blu ray and DVDs fine, sounds good too except for the bleeping beeping! Can't I kill the speaker in the damned thing without having to send it in for service?

Am I shouting and nobody hears? I hate buying something that sets me back like this did, and then pukes right after the warranty expires. I had a Denon DVD player do the same thing. I won't buy a Denon ever again either.
