1 out of 5 stars "Wireless" rear speakers are not   January 5, 2009

We returned this product because the rear speakers, advertised as "wireless", are in fact both connected to a remote box by... you guessed it... speaker wire. Therefore, if you have a hallway or doorway along the wall where you're setting up the rear speakers, you are still stuck figuring out how to route the wires. The other difficulty, as others have noted, are very limited input/output options.

4 out of 5 stars Panasonic PT960 Home Theater System   December 27, 2008

I purchased this system primarily for the wireless rear speakers which work great. The system was realitively easy to set up and the sound is great compared to the TV speakers. The wireless speakers interfere with my wireless connection to my computer, so I have to disconnect one or the other to use wireless speakers or wireless internet connection. This is a small inconvenience, but, nevertheless an inconvenience. Overall, I would recommend this system to anyone who is looking for good sound for a few bucks.

5 out of 5 stars SC-PT960 is Really Godd   December 22, 2008

Pros : Good Sound over all. Also good sound from wireless speakers unlike othes mentioned that they barely hear any sound. I hear it good enough.

Cons: speaker cable length could be longer. I had to cut cables to make them longer but did not loose any quality.

Went for amazon free shipping. I placed order on Sunday and it was at my door on Wednesday via Fedex. Paid 355.

5 out of 5 stars Everything I expected   December 18, 2008

I got this setup two days ago and have really enjoyed it. The setup took about 30-40 minutes and was pretty easy.

The look:

Really nice, fits in well with my Samsung TV. The wires are running inside the towers and then have a small area to keep them from being visible (my wife liked that). You don't have to use the speakers as towers, they come with instructions on how to mount them or set them up on a table.

The Setup:

Not bad at all. I simply run my PS3 to my TV via HDMI and then turn my TVs sound off and run an optical cord to the DVD player/receiver. The setup, like I said, was really easy and you don't have to have an input for HDMI. You see, most of the posts about these systems needing an input are not telling you that the systems in this price range don't decode the sound... they simply pass the data through to the TV in one input. Well, in my opinion my little optical cord from my TV to the system does the job just fine and then leaves the HDMI cable going directly to the item I paid the most for, my TV. I haven't had any problems using my wireless router or computer with the wireless speakers. The system says its supposed to change channels if it detects anything... and like I said it seems to work just fine.

The Sounds:

The sound wow'd me for what I paid for the system. The bass is setup perfectly, but you can adjust as needed. I wish the rear speakers would be a bit louder, but them I have them pretty far back because my dining room is an extension of my living room. One funny thing, when I first tried this system out by pushing it to the limit, it got so loud that a motion activated toy two rooms over started going off. For me, the system is great.

My Opinion:

If you're a person like me, just looking for an inexpensive way to get some great sound out of your TV/PS3, this is perfect. I'd recommend it to anyone.

5 out of 5 stars Great system for a great place   December 5, 2008

Looked at this system awhile ago offline and it was almost $600. Did some internet research and it seemed to be a good beginner system for those of us who arent looking to commit a spend a fortune but want a better HT experience. When I found it on here for such a low price I went for it.

I'm so glad I did. It came yesterday and I hooked it up last night- myself. And believe me, I am not the most technically adept person. I was really impressed with the difference it made and I tested dvds, running my tv audio, cds, and ipod- everything worked awesome.

I'm going to take a guess and say that a true audiophile might find somethings that need improvement, but for me, I think I will be satisfied with this system for a long time.
