Editorial Reviews:

Amazon.com Product Description
The Bose 3-2-1 GS II system offers simplicity, ease, and superb sound. Just two visible speaker arrays and a hideaway Acoustimass module deliver full sound without the wires and cabinetry inherent in traditional surround sound systems.

The system includes a progressive scan DVD/CD player with AM/FM tuner. A programmable universal remote control lets you manage all your entertainment devices.

The Gemstone speaker array employs the most powerful 3-2-1 speakers to date and provides a spaciousness to audio that enhances movies and music. The 3-2-1 system is equipped with Videostage 5 decoding circuitry to improve audio-classic movies and TV sound almost like surround sound.

As with all Bose equipment, minimal space requirements prevail. The lack of center and rear speakers in the system save space without sacrificing quality. And the new speakers are 50% smaller than previous models-big things from a small package, indeed.

1 out of 5 stars Bose Corp Ought to be Ashamed!!!   August 4, 2008
Bill Williamson (KY USA)
As we all know, Bose products are expensive. I will pay the extra amount because I want the best possible sound within a price range which is not exorbitant.

Bose products which I have purchased are the following: a wave radio with the CD feature. two sets of headphones. and a surround sound system. Furthermore, the Bose system in the car I purchased was very instrumental in that purchase. In other words, I have been a loyal and satisfied Bose customer.

When I moved into a condo, I wanted a surround sound system that was compact yet provided an in-theater sound. Without hesitation, I visited the Bose website and read about the 321 GS Series. It met my needs perfectly, and it was a Bose product. I thought I was set. Wrong!!

I have owned this system for a little over a year now, and it has been relegated to a sound sytem for my other CD and DVD players. Nearly all the CD's and DVD's that I try to play on it, will not play. If you buy one get used to seeing "Format Not Supported" across the screen. (I hope this does not become Bose's new motto) Also, the sound system will go bad from time to time, and must be disconnected and reconnected to get it to perform properly.

This is not a Bose product which I would recommend. It is terrible. If I had to do it over again I would definitely go in a different direction.

Bose has great products, but this "ain't" one of them.

For the people who are about to buy this product; Bose has a big name is world renound, but to me the base of the System is very poor. You could to barely hear the base of music. We had an onkyo system that cost us about $200 and the base of that is more satisfiying. The system in a Honda car is more satisfiying than this so called "Great System." So next time when you are thinking to by Bose, Think before you waste your money on this product.

1 out of 5 stars same as rest - JUNK   April 19, 2008
Cory Oquinn (lake charles, la United States)
Similar story to others, only mine at least played DVDs for 18 months b4 the dreaded Format Unsupported start showing up. Now all I have is an expensive 3 speaker system that sounds good at times but at other times you can't hear voices. It was overpriced to start with but I bought into the Bose name thinking it would be quality. What a joke. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT, anything else would be either cheaper or more reliable or both!

1 out of 5 stars what a joke   February 16, 2008

I have never even heard of anything this bad. The first one we got froze after 15 minutes of DVD playtime. We brought it back and the store replaced it immediately, without question (maybe we were not the first). The next one we got turns off spontaneously from time to time, which we could live with. We could also live with the bad TV sound, the bad CD sound, and the bad AUX sound through our computer. After all, it's optimized for DVD, and when we play modern, digital DVDs, the sound is almost as good as the demo in the store. If we can find a way to bypass the system for every other kind of sound input, we'll be in business. (but then we'll need speakers). Maybe someone can help: lately when we play our great-sounding DVDs, the picture goes to a grainy blue-ish black and white image. Now it is useless for everything, and we want our thousand dollars back. I hope we get it, but I have a feeling we're going to get a "repair disc" in the mail instead. If you respect yourself, don't buy this system.
